Many believe Tajima cattle produce the best Wagyu beef in Japan. Originally from north of Hyogo Japan, now raised in Victoria, Australia. Tajima is the most famous of all Wagyu bloodlines. Tajima Australian Grain-Fed Wagyu cattle are fed specialized grains, corn silage, hay, and cereals for a minimum of 350 days. To ensure quality, feed is grown and mixed on the same farm, under the care of an expert Japanese nutritionist. Tajima cattle are smaller and grow more slowly, so only a limited amount of Tajima beef is available. This premium range of grain fed wagyu beef is prized by chefs because it is so excellent, with a large eye muscle and superior melt-in-the-mouth fat marbling.
